Stitching News and Notes, April 27th 2009

Hey Everyone,

We hope you had a wonderful weekend with lots of time to stitch. It looks like May gray is setting in a little early here in Escondido, but it seems to me that is a good excuse to curl up in your favorite stitching spot and get some extra needles in! There are just a few notes today. First, don’t forget the All Day Stitch on this Saturday, May 2nd. As announced previously, we will meet at the Golden Egg Omelet House at 8am for breakfast, and then head over to the shop to stitch till we drop! We understand if you can’t make it for breakfast, but please keep in mind we need a somewhat accurate head count, so please call or email the shop if you are joining us!

Next, Nora Corbett, designer for Mirabilia, is at it again. Look at this stunning new pattern she has just released!

Now, while I have to admit that fabric isn’t my favorite, can you imagine those beauties on a light blue or pale green fabric?

Other things to take note of:
-If you are taking Alex’s Ming class and need some time to stitch and get caught up, there is an “Alex is Coming” stitch day on May 9th.
-Want to learn a new technique? Why not come and take our Bargello and More Class, taught by Heidi, on May 16th. Please call the shop to enroll or for more details.
-Nancy’s next Flint Cottage/Seasonal House class is on May 30th.

Christmas is Coming…A Stitcher’s Christmas Update

We are sorry but there was a mistake in an earlier post this week. There is not class this weekend. We apologize for this error.

Hello Everyone! Spring break was miserable for me because not only was everyone else in my family sick with the flu, but so was I! The baby and I got it the worst. I have never been that sick for that long, but thankfully everyone is better now and I have gotten back to stitching!

So far, I was able to add another 8 hours to my piece. See how quickly it stitches up?! I only have four more days to stitch! I really recommend this piece for those of you who like to see quick results. Sometimes, you just need to have that instant gratification and sense of accomplishment. Remember, there are less than eight months until Christmas!

Stitching News and Notes, April 20th

Hey Everyone,

We hope you had a wonderful weekend and got some time in the Southern California sun! We have all sorts of fun new things in the shop for you to come and look at. First up is Danji Designs:

Yes, we have a Laurel Birch Design! This is the only one in the shop at the moment, but there are plenty that we can order for you.

If you started this cutie patootie of a witch this week, I bet you could have her done in time for Halloween!

If Halloween isn’t your thing, you could start early for Christmas and easily beat our October 1st deadline for finishing…

Just a reminder that we are still hosting the trunk show from All About Stitching. It is only here until Saturday, though, so please stop by and have a look this week.

Nancy has two open enrollment classes for you to choose from, and there is a class date for this Saturday. Here are pictures of both designs:

Finally, don’t forget that our next All Day Stitch is May 2nd. We start with breakfast at the Golden Egg Omelet House at 8am, and then continue on to the shop to stitch till we drop. If you can’t make it to breakfast, we understand, but know that we have been doing a really fun contest when we get to the shop, for “Breakfast Club” stitchers only. If you are planning on joining us, please either call or email the shop.
